Hurricane Electric Offers Ultra Low-cost Internet Access for Needy Educational Institutions
Fremont, California - October 25, 2004 - Hurricane Electric, a leading Technical Service Provider, announced today that it is offering a special Gigabit Ethernet port program for accredited non- profit educational institutions that will nearly eliminate their cost of Internet access.

The special offer that Hurricane Electric is extending will allow accredited non- profit educational institutions to receive flat rate Gigabit Ethernet transit (1,000 Mbps of IP) for $1,000 per month, which is more than 95% off the regular rate. Educational institutions that can take advantage of this offer include school districts, colleges, and universities.

"We wanted to do something special to help support educational institutions that are experiencing budget cuts. Education is the key to our future and it is becoming more difficult to provide a quality education under such tight budgets. As a socially responsible business in the community, we are trying to make a difference by almost eliminating the cost of Internet access, and allowing these institutions to spend their budgets on more books and teachers," said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric president.

This special Gigabit Ethernet is available in seven location in the United States and two locations in Europe: Switch and Data (PAIX) in Palo Alto, CA; Equinix in Ashburn, VA; Equinix in Chicago, IL; Equinix in Dallas, TX; Equinix in Los Angeles, CA; Equinix in San Jose, CA; Telehouse (NYIIX) in New York, NY; Telehouse (LINX) in London, UK; NIKHEF (AMS- IX) Amsterdam, NL.
